description: The rectangular tank is divided into 4 chambers. The connection between the chambers is given at the bottom to allow the flow. A fixed bed is vertically mounted in each chamber and consists of bundled perforated tubes (PE) - the last one with the finest mesh. Filler and drain (DN 50) are located at the face side of the last chamber. Each chamber can be ventilated by three pipes from the bottom. The flow can be controlled by magnetic valves (1 per chamber - controlled via Siemens LOGO) and manual stop valves (3 per chamber).

informations about: containers / tanks / mixer-setters

Mixer settler
Mixer settlers are a class of mineral process equipment used in the solvent extraction process. A mixer settler consists of a first stage that mixes the phases together followed by a quiescent settling stage that allows the phases to separate by gravity.
The mixer may consists of one or multiple stages of mixing tanks. Common laboratory mixers consist of a single mixing stage, whereas industrial scale copper mixers may consist of up to three mixer stages where each stage performs a combined pumping and mixing action. Use of multiple stages allows a longer reaction time and also minimizes the short circuiting of unreacted material through the mixers.
The settler is a calm pool downstream of the mixer where the liquids are allowed to separate by gravity. The liquids are then removed separately from the end of the mixer.
Industrial mixer settlers are commonly used in the copper, nickel, uranium and cobalt hydrometallurgy industries. The equipment units can be arrayed as:

extraction (moving an ion of interest from an aqueous phase to an organic phase),
washing (rinsing entrained aqueous contaminant out of an organic phase containing the ion of interest), and
stripping (moving an ion of interest from an organic phase into an aqueous phase).

Trickling filter
Trickling filters have been used to filter water for various end uses for almost two centuries. Biological treatment has been used in Europe to filter surface water for drinking purposes since the early 1900s and is now receiving more interest worldwide. Biological treatment methods are also common in wastewater treatment, aquaculture and greywater recycling as a way to minimize water replacement while increasing water quality.

For drinking water, biological water treatment involves the use of naturally occurring micro-organisms in the surface water to improve water quality. Under optimum conditions, including relatively low turbidity and high oxygen content, the organisms break down material in the water and thus improve water quality. Slow sand filters or carbon filters are used to provide a place on which these micro-organisms grow. These biological treatment systems effectively reduce water-borne diseases, dissolved organic carbon, turbidity and colour in surface water, improving overall water quality.
